The Flood

THE FLOOD:      What does the Bible really say?

                   EYEWITNESS ACCOUNT

                             SYNOPSIS
As you will find shown above in the book "12 Hours in Heaven," the eyewitness Sam Henson saw how the flood happened. Michael and his angels rolled the earth half-over quickly to CAUSE the flood. The earth's core inside is "fixed" and cannot be moved (Psa.93:1; 104:5; Jer.51:15). But in Isa. 24:1 there is the "face of the earth" being turned, which means the "surface of the earth" or the outer crust. This is also found in Gen. 6:13 where God destroys the people and destroys, devistates or ruins the land surface along with annihilating the people. All of this will not be hard to prove once we analyze the text of the Bible.  Pay close attention here because we live in a world of CAUSE & EFFECT.

BIBLICAL EVIDENCE

[SUMMARY]
May I draw your attention quickly to a verse found in Job. Discover what translators are too inept to see and what a shabby treatment they have done on Job 22:16. If you read the translations, you probably don't understand the use of river or stream found among them. And neither do the translators themselves (incl. KJ). What you will see hinted at in Rev. 10:1, is that the powerful angel Michael was that which CAUSED the flood, which he accomplished by moving the earth's surface (which he will do once more at the Armageddon, which is found in Isa.24:1,19 which is all laid out in Rev. 16).

THIS IS ALL BASIC TO UNDERSTANDING THE BIBLICAL FLOOD NARRATIVE

The EFFECT (result # 1):   the waters of the sea poured over the continents (the waters came upon the earth i.e., land) and submerged it [JUST LIKE JOB 22:16 SAYS IN THE HEBREW →Check in addition to the KJ margin the word Nahar in your Strong's Exhaustive Concordance]. This is the word Thayer uses for 2 Pet. 3:6 (submerge).  It does not mention "rain" and in fact the word katakluzo is tied to "the sea," which is confirmation enough for Job 22:16.  See katakluzo, kataklusmos, kluzo and kludon defined in the upcoming paragraph. The prefix kata here simply means covering over.
Listen to the words that are mentioned in Gen.7, the translators are giving you a graphic illustration of the conditions on earth:
They engulfed it.
With great depth and height
It was very, very powerful (violent).
The water surged
It submerged the HIGHEST mountain peak
The New English Bible in Isa. 54:9 (Library ref.#3.0) uses the word "pour" possibly because of Job 22:16 in the KJ margin. It does not say "rain" poured. It says a body of water (THE SEA) WAS POURED UPON THEIR FOUNDATION. Not only water, but included in the meaning of this word "poured" (which is used sometimes of pouring molten metal in casting objects) would be the hot molten magma and lava that was released when the earth's surface was broken up (Isa. 24:19) and the great geological UPHEAVAL or CATACLYSM resulted (which happens to be the english etymological meaning of the word kataklusmos in 2 Pet.2:5; see 1828 Webster Dictionary reproduced in SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE).   2 Pet. 3:5 is setting it up for the next verse and explains that the water of the earth comprising the oceans was used to submerge the land and people that then existed.  We're talking about the ENTIRE TOTAL VOLUME of all the water here on earth in these two verses, that it was used to destroy the world that then existed.  And that could only happen by the enormous, gigantic, colossal cataclysm that you are about to explore on this page and on the scientific evidence page.  SO PAY ATTENTION!!  2 Pet. 3:6 uses the verb katakluzo. The fact is that kataklusmos is from kata+kluzo (2626 Thayer) which is from the base of kludon which is from kluzo and means a surge of the seaviolent agitation of the sea as far as the kind of flood or deluge it was. Charles Thomson's Septuagint of 1808 missed it by one word (stream) with his translation of Job 22:16 looking at the righteous (Noah) as opposed to the wicked:  Thou wilt not keep the ancient way, which righteous men trod, who were borne aloft, and whose foundations were the surgy stream (sea). This is the same way Jonah depicts the ocean in Jonah 2:3 with the same word nahar.
The EFFECT (result # 2):       the fountains (springs) in the outer crust were broken up.
The EFFECT (result # 3 & 4):       it clouded up over the entire earth and rained for (40) days.

This is the listed order and sequence of these near-simultaneous events, occurring the same day found in Gen.7:10-11 (then matched with Sam Henson's statements about what he saw take place in color following each):
1. THE WATERS OF THE FLOOD CAME UPON THE EARTH (
the ocean went up over the continents with what looked like a two mile high tidal wave)
2. THE SPRINGS FROM THE DEEP WERE BROKEN UP (
some of what was under water then came up, and what is under water now was above it originally - the land was seen breaking up everywhere just like ice breaking up)
3. THE WINDOWS OF THE HEAVENS WERE OPENED (
it was described like a hurricane all over the earth and it just became a ball of clouds)
END OF VERSE 11 (P-E-R-I-O-D).    Next verse (Gen. 7:12):
4. IT RAINED 40 DAYS  [this does not necessarily commence the same day, the Bible does not say. Meteorologically speaking, no atmospheric development or disturbance is instantaneous]   (it took forty days for it (ball of clouds) to all rain out of the atmosphere)

All of this leads back to Gen.7:4 "I will CAUSE it to rain."  Or, CAUSE rain to be sent echoing the earlier statement in Gen. 2:5 where God had not CAUSED it to rain yet.
The CAUSE in Gen. 2:5 shows there is a little bit more involved, perhaps the jet stream in Gen. 8:1 which brings weather. After the Earth got turned, then you see the map to the right the present situation.

Michael does God's bidding when ordered (Psa. 103:20) and the power goes with him, so it's just like God doing it. In essence, that is what it is saying in Psa. 29:10 where God's kingly way of calling for something to be is found in Gen. 1 with "Let there be...." as found in Amos 5:8.

 EXEGETICAL EVIDENCE # 1

THE FLOOD CAME FIRST BEFORE THE RAIN

Gen. 7:10-12 1611 King James:

10  And it came to pass on the seventh day, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.
11  In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day, were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
12 And the rain was upon the earth, forty days, and forty nights.

Gen. 7:10-12 based on the Amplified Bible (1965):

            Listed order of events
1. THE WATERS OF THE FLOOD CAME UPON THE LAND.
2. THE FOUNTAINS OF THE GREAT DEEP WERE BROKEN UP.
3. THE WINDOWS OF THE HEAVENS WERE OPENED.

4. IT RAINED UPON THE EARTH 40 DAYS AND 40 NIGHTS.

The first three all happen mostly simultaneously because of the quick turning of the earth's surface, which causes it to crack open in many places resulting in the fragmented situation in Isa. 24:19.   This is why the first three are all shown here as transpiring the same day, if not the same moment.

·         The first thing is the "waters of the flood came upon the land"
·         The second thing is the "fountains of the great deep were broken up"
·         The third thing is "the windows of heaven were opened"
·         The rain is mentioned LAST.  It is also in a verse of it's own, not being directly connected to the previous verses. The verse begins with "And" which is a typical Hebrew way of beginning a sentence as found in Genesis chapter one and the Hebrew parable of the Prodigal Son. To clarify that it is not directly connected to verse 10 or 11, the New Amplified omits "And" stating  "It rained on the earth for 40 days and 40 nights." This is like unto the Hebrew Tanakh (1985).  Verse 12 is a direct result of the atmospheric situation described as "windows of heaven being opened." It doesn't state that the rain happened the same day, but it is almost implied that it could have been the next day. Remember that Jesus uses Job 22:16 in Mat. 24:39 to describe the "suddenness" of the whole thing (Exegetical Evidence #3).
There is a MAJOR difference between the Hebrew words for "rain" and "flood" and "waters".

Hebrew Tanakh (1985):
(10) And on the seventh day the waters of the Flood came upon the earth. (11) In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day
All the fountains of the great deep burst apart,
And the floodgates of the sky broke open.
(12) The rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.

New English Bible:
(10) Towards the end of seven days the waters of the flood came upon the earth. (11) In the year when Noah was six hundred years old, on the seventeenth day of the second month, on that very day, all the springs of the great abyss broke through, the windows of the sky were opened,
(12) and rain fell on the earth for forty days and forty nights.

The Creation Bible:
(10) On the seventh day the waters of the flood came upon the earth.  (11) In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, on the seventeenth day of the second month, on the same day all the subterranean springs were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.  (12) Following all that action, it rained non-stop for 40 days.

The flood came upon the earth before the rain!! But nobody ever gave it much thought. Notice in the Hebrew text it says the "waters of the flood," which is phrasing similar to Isa.54:9 where it says the "waters of Noah." What are the fountains of the deep that were broken up? That is listed second. But what were they? The admirable Helen Spurrell in her 1885 translation was right in that they were "springs of the great deep." But note the Living Bible there: "subterranean waters." Put the two together and they were simply "subterranean springs."  We call them aquifers or underground water tables. Look at the Message in Gen. 2:6 and Gen. 7:11. However, they didn't "erupt," but were broken up and disturbed in the upheaval or cataclysm that took place. We live in a world of cause & effect; to the scientist there is no doubt about this. What CAUSED the subterranean springs to break up?

EXEGETICAL EVIDENCE # 2

THE LAND WAS MOVED OUT OF IT'S PLACE

THE HEBREW BOOK OF JASHER  &  ISAIAH 24:1,19

Jasher was mentioned in our canonized Bible in two places: Joshua 10:13 & 2 Samuel 1:18.
"And on that day, the Lord caused the whole earth to shake, and the sun darkened, and the fountains of the world raged, and the whole earth was moved violently, and the lightning flashed, and the thunder roared, and all of the fountains in the earth were broken up......And at the end of seven days, in the six hundredth year of the life of Noah, the waters of the flood were upon the earth."-Jasher 6:11-13.

And so the whole earth (land surface, including the ocean floor) was moved violently. This is not intent to give validity to the whole book of Jasher.  This is one place that happens to be accurate and embellishes on the book of Moses called Genesis in the sentence "the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up." Those two events are inseparable. They are cause & effect items. The only thing that would break up these springs in the crust of the earth would be a movement of the earth's surface. And that is found in Isaiah 24:1.

ISAIAH 24:1,19 = GENESIS 6:13

Isa. 24:1: "Behold the Lord maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and perverteth the face thereof...."
Isa. 24:19:  The earth (the land) is violently broken up, split apart, cracked apart, fragmented, violently moved, shaken.

San Andreas Fault in California

Isa. 24:1 from the 1611 King James Version margin. Using the other word "turneth" you come up with "turneth the face thereof" or (overturned it's face-YLT). And that word translated "face" means "surface." So it means "turneth the surface thereof."  Although you might argue that Isa. 24 pertains to the land of Canaan because of Wesley etc., the 1985 Tanakh makes no such reference in its translation. There is even a reference to the deluge in verse 18 (it seems it's warning us there will be geological flooding (Job 37:11-13) and earthquakes, but cf. Mal.3:10 & Psa.82:5).
Rev10:1
The general heading of the chapter in some Bibles is God's Judgment on the Whole Earth. The reason this is so is because of Jer. 25:29. Whatever is determined on Israel is determined upon the whole earth: Rom.9:28; Isa.28:22. Read the footnote at the word "earth" in the Amplified Bible @ Isaiah 24:1. And so, Michael the archangel turned the earth half-over at the flood. This is alluded to in Rev10:1. Michael is the only archangel with the ability to do it (him and his angels). One foot on the land and the other on the sea is, again, telling about his ability to move the earth's crust and cause a flood.  He will turn it over once again (SLOWER) at the Armageddon (Rev.10:6Zech.14:7). Sam Henson said he came down and shook this planet like it's never been shook before. More detail about this later on. But for right now, Isaiah 13:13 and Heb.12:26 are important in understanding how it happened the first time. These two verses are a future event that takes place at the end of the tribulation period during the Armegeddon. But they shed much light on Michael turning it the first time.  When the Lord hearkened unto the man Joshua to make the sun and moon stand still for about a whole day in Josh. 10:12-13, this would have equalized the time gain when Michael quickly rolled the earth half over within the day mentioned in Gen.7:10-11. The earth was actually what stood still. So any modern computer calculations of astronomical events would not show any discrepancy.

"Therefore I will shake the heavens and the earth (land) shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger"-Isaiah 13:13.  The whole earth or land shall be turned about (go around, revolve) and be changed into a vast plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be exalted¹ and lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses.-Zech. 14:10/Creation Bible.

Then there is another verse which refers to a first "shaking" of the earth. It is also a basis on which to establish it all:

"Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land"-Haggai 2:7. "Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven"-Heb.12:26.  "It shall fall, and not rise again"-Isa.24:20.  "The former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind"-Isa.65:17.  "For the fashion (schema) of this world passeth away"-1 Cor. 7:31.  "The cities of the nations fell"-Rev. 16:19.

AGAIN,  NO MORE TIME OR DELAY WILL BE GIVEN LIKE AT NOAH'S FLOOD!  MICHAEL WILL DO IT A SECOND TIME AT THE ARMAGEDDON AND TIME RECKONING WILL BE NO LONGER!
(At least for about 6 months)
>>Rev. 16:18-20

YET ONCE MORE
 Proverbs 8:26
Continue on to the next verse: "And this word, Yet once more, SIGNIFIETH the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made...." J.B. Phillips: "This means that in this final “shaking” all that is impermanent will be removed, that is, everything that is merely “made”, and only the unshakeable things will remain." ["Heaven" being shaken refers to the Prince of the power of the air (atmosphere-Eph.2:2). This time it includes the devils and their realm to be shaken. Luke 21:26; Rev.6:13; Eph.6:12, Rev.12:8] J.B. Phillips uses the word impermanent and the Amplified here makes reference to Psa.102:26. Here the word "made" is the Hebrew word (‛âsâh) . You will see this word represented in Psa.102:25 below. That word is used in God's creation of certain things in Genesis and is used of God forming and fashioning things out of pre-existent material, that was mostly already here. This pre-existent material or atomic particle make up is then found in Prov. 8:26 where Helen Spurrell's translation says the "primitive atoms of the globe," taking it all the way back to Gen. 1:1, when God's ancient activity commenced (creation of the Universe) in Prov. 8:22. Compare Heb. 11:3 and read the footnote in the Living Bible about atoms, these minute particles that are invisible to us. The inhabited worlds were framed, or rendered complete, perfect, finished, habitable, by God's word, "let there be." This is what Gen. 2:2-3 is telling you, by using the word that means complete, finish or end.  In Heb. 11:3 they were made what they ought to be, as was the intended purpose.  God created the earth not in vain, but formed it to be inhabited (Isa.45:18).

The difference between the two words "earth" and "world" as used in the Bible.

[Psa. 90:2─ "(Before) ever thou hast formed the earth and the world." Basically, the word 'earth' mentioned first refers to the planet terra firma, and is usually distinguished from the 'face of the earth' and sometimes might include our foundation (singular) which is the outer land surface (terrene) and includes the ocean floor. And 'world' mentioned second refers to what God has created on it or done to it in the way of improvements subsequent to bringing it to this solar system, i.e. an inhabitable finished product, Prov. 8:31 or even the inhabitants themselves, John 3:16. Cf. Job 37:12. The Hebrew word #8398 têbêl: the earth (as moist and therefore inhabited): habitable part, world. –Strong's Exhaustive Concordance].

Psa. 102:25-27 helps illuminate Heb.12:27 further and says:

"Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the (ma’aseh) work of thy hands. They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed: But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end."
Six words were highlighted there in order to demonstrate this more clearly. The NT in Heb.1:10-12 says the same but notice 2 Pet.3:6:

"The world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished."

Job 22:16 says the sea was poured on that foundation but the world is still here, and the earth is still here, it didn't perish either. But the world that WAS did perish! The world is that which Prov.8:31 says is the habitable part, which is the outer crust or surface. This is what God formed and fashioned at the first day onward in Genesis.

[ Apart from verse 1, it is likely that Genesis 1 does not mention the earth as the planet itself. The word translated "earth" usually means "land," in most instances throughout the Bible. Apart from verse 16, which is just a casual reference to the Sun, Moon & stars, the "earth" from verse 2 onward simply means the land surface while the word "heaven" means the atmosphere (or lack thereof: darkness being upon the face of the deep, or deep space).  Again, verse 1: "heavens" refers to the Universe or totality of it, which happens to include our planet earth. ]

It simply says the earth's (land surface) "was" or "hath existed" without form, and not the planet itself, which has always been a sphere.  In other words, it was not a habitable world yet, just a dead planet like the moon is. The earth is made of primal atoms (Prov.8:26) and might as well include the planet or globe itself which is perhaps billions of years old.  Paul in 1 Cor.7:31 says this outward form, scheme, plan, structure and appearance (which is the habitable part or "garment") will pass away or be "changed in appearance and form" just like the word "fashion" suggests. See the word metaschematizo. The habitable part or world is like a garment, it is a covering. Cf. 1 Sam.2:8. The inside is fixed and permanent.
Psa.104:5 says foundations (plural) as in Job 38:6. There are many of them in layers fastened down to the core central of the planet earth. They are what is more or less permanent.   Psa.104:5 in the Tanakh says: He established the earth on its foundations, so that it shall never totter. (Totter means wobble).  Jer. 51:15 says God fixed the world in place and Job 26:7 states that He hangs it on nothing.  This refers to a "supernatural line" around the sun that God uses here for a framed, finished world to track or traverse. All of the preceding worlds that were here once, are mentioned in Heb. 11:3; 1:2.

OVERWHELMING EVIDENCE # 3

IT WAS THE SEA

THE SHARPEST EVIDENCE OF ALL

(SHARPER THAN A TWO EDGED SWORD)

Sad to say, this verse in Job is much overlooked !

The proof of it being about Noah's flood is that Jesus quotes from it in Matthew 24:39 !  See the flood puzzle page.

Job 22:15-17 says in the 1611 King James Version:

(15) "Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden?
(16) Which were cut down out of time, a flood was poured upon their foundation:
(17) Which said unto God, Depart from us: and what can the Almighty do to them?"
            -Job 22:16

That is correct in verse 16 all except for ONE WORD. Here the word translated "flood" does not mean flow or flowing as it means in Gen.7:10 or Psa.29:10 which says God sat enthroned or as King over the flood and sits as King forever. That word comes from a root which means "carry away". But here the word in the Hebrew text of Job 22:16 is the word nâhâr which means a stream or river (including the ocean). This word comes from a root which means "to sparkle from the sheen of a running stream."   So what the King James could have or should have said is THE SEA WAS POURED UPON THEIR FOUNDATION.

The word is #5104 nâhâr a stream (includ. the sea ; espec. the Nile, Euphrates, etc.) -Strong's Exhaustive Concordance

Barnes Notes on the Bible - Job 22:16

Whose foundation was overflown - Margin, or "a flood was poured upon their foundation."  That is, all on which they relied was swept away.

With a flood - Hebrew (נהר  nâhâr) "river."  The word is commonly applied to a river, and in the Scriptures, by way of eminence, to the Euphrates; see Isaiah 7:20, note; Isaiah 8:7, note.  It may be used, however, to denote a rive which is swollen, and then a flood - and it is several times rendered "flood" in the Scriptures; Job 14:11; Jonah 2:3 (where it means the sea); Joshua 24:2-3, Joshua 24:14-15; Psalm 66:6; Job 28:11; Psalm 24:2; Psalm 93:3; Sol 8:7.

You can see that Jonah in the whale for 3 days and nights was not only a sign of the Son of Man being in the grave for that period, but it was also a picture of Noah and the ark and the flood. That is why the words are the same as used in Job 22:16 (nâhâr), and Isa. 54:9 (abâr).  For the wicked it was a watery grave, but Noah was safely deposited on Mt. Ararat where the ark was beached.  You can almost hear Noah saying what Jonah said in verse three:

The New English Translation for Jonah 2:3:
You threw me into the deep waters,
into the middle of the sea;
the ocean current engulfed me;
all the mighty waves you sent swept over me.

Note how these three passages (Psa. 104:9; Isa. 54:9; Jon. 2:3) all have the word abâr which means cross over--go over--pass over.  This is no coincidence.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I have assembled a list of translations here that are looking at the verse in Job like it is in JONAH.  But they are not convinced that it is the Noachian deluge so most will say 'river' instead of OCEAN,  in spite of what the NT kataklusmos means which is flood of the sea with prefix kata (cover over); notice Helen Spurrell's use of the word over here in Job. The book of Job seems to exemplify it best. Remember the good ole' King James and the margin of it; simply substitute the word flood or river with 'sea' or 'ocean'.

Barnes Notes on the Bible - Job 22:16

Out of time - Hebrew "And there was no time;" that is, it was done in a moment, or suddenly. No time was given them; no delay was granted.  The floods rushed over them, and nothing could stay them.

Prof. Lee supposes that the allusion here is to some overflowing of the Euphrates, but the reference seems to be decidedly to the deluge in the time of Noah.  The "language" is such as would be used in referring to that, and the fact is just such an one as would be pertinent to the argument of Eliphaz. The fact was undoubtedly well known to all, so that a bare allusion to it would be enough.

✱✱✱✱✱✱✱✱✱✱✱✱✱✱✱✱✱

Without a doubt it is referring to the flood of Noah;  the wording and meaning is so close to Mat. 24:39 that it's unmistakable.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The Bible itself is it's own best commentary:     JOB 22:16  =  MAT. 24:39
Note the word "unexpectedly" in the Young's Literal Translation of Job 22:16 above. Also note Jay P. Green's Literal Translation (shown on Flood Puzzle page) which says: "There was not time." Hence the Contemporary English Version: "swept away without warning." This is borne out by the NT in Mat. 24:39. Note Thayer's Greek Lexicon uses the word Violence⇨  § 3. h. Hence the Amplified and others use the word 'Swept Away' because the people were not cognizant of what was happening due to the suddenness of it in Mat. 24:39 just like the wording in Job 22:16. (And it's just like that when Jesus comes back, suddenly, quickly, like the lightning from the east to the west).

This all happens the 7th day, after Noah entered into the Ark. How could the world that then was, perish and be swept away in 1 day of rain? And it wasn't 40-days-of-rain that did it either. 40-days-of-rain is not very sudden. Gen.7:10-12 states first that the waters of the flood came upon the earth or land. Not rain. Everything is virtually simultaneous in vs. 10-11. The conditions in the turbulent atmosphere were forming, and possibly the next day the rain commenced in vs. 12. I have to bring up an observation by Edmund Halley (a respected Scientist) about all this, in the SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE.

EXEGETICAL EVIDENCE # 4

SEA WATERS CROSSED OVER THE LAND

All that is consistent with Isa. 54:9 which says "I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth." Notice the next verse: "For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed......" That promise and the geological change here in the next verse relates directly to the 2nd turning by Michael at Armageddon. Because of the text in Job 22:16 the New English Bible has gone so far as to say in Isa. 54:9 "I swore that the waters of Noah's flood should never again POUR over the earth". The word in the Hebrew here actually means pass, go, cross (over). Scroll down to Brown,Driver,Briggs @ 1. pass over: f. and see where it places the usage in Isa.54:9.

For, the waters of Noah [is] this to Me, In that I have sworn -- the waters of Noah Do not pass again over the earth -- So I have sworn, Wrath is not upon thee, Nor rebuke against thee- Isa.54:9/Young's Literal Translation.

For [a] this is like the days of Noah to Me, When I swore that the waters of Noah Would not[b]flood the earth again; So I have sworn that I will not be angry with you Nor will I rebuke you- Isa. 54:9/New American Standard Bible.
Footnotes:
aIsaiah 54:9 Some mss read the waters of Noah this is to Me
bIsaiah 54:9 Lit cross over

[Cf. Isa. 54:9 with Jer. 5:22].
This is one of those places where the word "earth" could have been translated "land"..... i.e., the waters of Noah would not cross over the land again. Notice that Young's literal translation reveals the connection in Hebrew to the parallelism found in Psa.104:9Same wordcheck Brown, Driver & Briggs @ 2. Pass beyondThis is just another confirmation of it being related to the continents and the ocean in this passage of Isaiah. Compare Amos 5:8: "That calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name." "Who calls for the water in the sea and with it floods the earth -ADONAI is his name" -Amos 5:8/Complete Jewish Bible"He summons the waters of the sea and pours them out over the earth. ADONAI is his name" -Amos 9:6/Complete Jewish Bible. Could this be a reference to Job 22:16 since Job is the only other book that mentions the constellation Orion and the seven star cluster of Pleiades?                                                                                                                                          ❒

BEGINNING OF SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE

A FINAL NOTE:
  IT'S UP TO YOU☜

No one has understood what the Bible says about the Flood.  And is it any wonder since there is not even ONE translation of the following words that is precise, or even close. No hint is even given by way of a footnote. This then, is a monumental effort put forth to instruct and hereby challenge the individual reader.

The Hebrew word nâhâr from Job 22:16 and the Greek kataklusmŏs from 2 Peter 2:5 & Mat. 24:39 both mean something in particular.  While “flood” is a safe overall commentary on the words, it does not supply the root meaning and therefore the underlying cause of the flood.  The ‘fairy tale’ myths that have arisen concerning the book of Genesis are unsurmountable & cannot be overcome without knowing what exactly took place.  The eyewitness account provided by my Grandfather's vision plus the knowledge of the Hebrew and Greek makes it possible to reveal the Biblical text in those areas.   The vision can only harmonize, illuminate and corroborate the Hebrew and Greek text of our Bible in those areas where translators are unsure about the precise meaning of that Hebrew/Greek original.  Without this 'overall picture of events' that was given to my Grandfather, they cannot piece all the flood puzzle together as evidenced by Job 22:16.  I have yet to find a single one that translates the Hebrew word nâhâr precisely in Job 22:16.  To me it is obvious.  Translators are reluctant to see the flood in Job 22:16 as definitely the same one in Gen. 7:10, even though Job lived right after the flood and is one of the oldest books.  And even more obvious, is Jesus referring to the passage in Mat. 24:39. So without any justifiable excuse, all of our translators go with the word "river" or just avoid it all together and say waters or flood when the word means here literally, sea.

The Hebrew and Greek text is as alive and revealing now, as it was 2000-4500 years ago. Job 22:16, Isaiah 54:9, Amos 5:8; 9:6, Mat.24:39 and 2 Peter 2:5 all go far in stating and backing up the facts, sometimes in just a single word.   Job, which is considered a scientific book is a good place to start if you want the physical facts of the flood.  You have seen all of those verses here in detail.  And as you proceeded through it, If you will be intellectually honest with yourself, and consider what other versions are saying through their commentary-by-way-of- translation,  then you can begin to see just what these passages are really saying in the original (even though all you need is the 1611 King James Version with margin Translators to the Reader  § ¶  15th paragraph and maybe Strong's Exhaustive Concordance).

A FAULTY PREMISE

The faulty premise everybody begins with, is that the flood was caused by 40 days of continual rain. While that proposition is patently absurd even from the hydrological standpoint of the Ark coming to rest atop Mt. Ararat (discovered there in 1916) which is some 16,946 feet above sea level, should be reason enough to make someone skeptical and wonder. Yet people would stake their lives on their beliefs, not of what the Bible actually says in the original language, but of what they think about it, whether based on a commentary (version), or some Sunday school lesson.   Nahar in Job 22:16 can be a river only if you don't understand the true meaning of the passage.  Because translators don't know for certain it relates to Gen. 7:10, they are reluctant to see it as the New English Translation translates the word in Jonah 2:3, which is "OCEAN CURRENT."  Nor do they understand Isa.54:9.  Will they take into consideration that neither a river or 40-days-of-rain would destroy every living substance/thing on the face of all the earth as was stated in Gen.7:3,4,21-23; 8:21 ? "Noah only remained....and they that were with him in the ark"-Gen.7:23. That excluded every body else and every living thing that was outside of the ark.  Gen. 6:13: "I will destroy them with the earth (or along with the land)"
